About the race
The Berryville Turkey Trot 5K and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run take place at Clarke County Parks & Recreation in Berryville, Virginia on November 14, 2026. The event uses the park fitness trail and the roadway leading into the park, with the start and finish in front of the Parks & Rec building. The nearby Chet Hobert Park is a 102 acre property west of Berryville.
Distances:
- 5K on a circle course using trail and roadway.
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Run for ages 10 and under on a flat out and back trail.
Course features include posted mile markers, a water station on the 5K course, volunteers in safety vests along the kids course including at the turnaround and half mile mark, and chip timing provided by 5 Runners Racing. For insurance and safety, no dogs on leashes, baby strollers or headphones are permitted on the course.
Registration facts: registration opens July 1 and closes October 25; a no race shirt option is available. Standard fees listed are $35 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 Mile Fun Run, with reduced prices offered for the no shirt options and a $3 discount for Shenandoah Valley Runners members. Fees increase after October 25.
Awards and extras include overall trophy plaques for the top three male and female finishers in each race, medals for the top three in each 10 year age group in the 5K, masters awards for age 40 and over, frozen turkey door prizes, and a food drive collecting non glass canned and boxed goods plus personal care items.
