Baslow Boot Bash
The Baslow Boot Bash is an annual walking and running event first held in 2005. It is organised by Baslow Choir and raises funds to enable the choir to use professional singers and musicians.
There are two route options available:
- 26 miles
- 14 miles
Both routes run through the Peak District National Park and are open to walkers and runners. The 26 miles route lies in the White Peak and offers views of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. It starts in Baslow and passes through Chatsworth Park, Over Haddon, Sheldon, Monsal Dale, Cressbrook Dale, Foolow, Eyam, Froggatt and Calver before returning to Baslow.
The 14 miles route follows the 26 miles route to the first checkpoint, then heads towards Bakewell via the Monsal trail, proceeds north to Rowland and Longstone Edge, turns east and then south to the final checkpoint, and finishes with the final two miles into Baslow.
The entry fee is £30 and includes confirmation by email, free car parking, morning tea coffee or juice at registration, medical and radio safety cover from Derbyshire Light Medical and RAYNET, water squash and biscuits at checkpoints, transport to the finish for retirees, badges and certificates for finishers, a meal at the finish with vegetarian vegan and gluten free options, and the event results and report.
Final instructions are issued in early May and include recommended routes with grid references and gpx files, checkpoint times, and a map of Baslow with parking and registration details. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
