Barrel Oak Turkey Trot 3k & 6k
The event takes place on November 15, 2026 at Barrel Oak Winery in Delaplane, Virginia. It offers two race distances:
- 3k
- 6k
The course is a cross country route around the vineyards that includes sections of gravel and some hills. The 6k is two laps of the 3k route. Walkers and leashed pets are welcome. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
Runners receive a glass of wine or beer from the winery, a finisher’s medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. Water stations are provided along the courses: four on the 6k and two on the 3k, with Gatorade available at some stations. Restrooms are located in the winery.
The race awards the top three men and women overall and awards in age groups through 70 and over; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group prizes. Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series and toward the Sippin’ Series. The event benefits Warriors Ethos.
Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered, though shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for late registrants. Live results are posted online and final results with series points are published after the event. Banditing is not allowed. The organizer runs events in most weather but may delay or cancel for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
