Barn-B-Q Trail Festival
The Barn-B-Q Trail Festival takes place Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Masker's Barn in the Deserted Village of Feltville, Watchung Reservation, Berkeley Heights, NJ (2 Cataract Hollow Road). The event combines self-guided trail running and hiking with an all-inclusive five hour Barn party centered on the restored Masker's Barn.
Trail tours use printed maps and routes available on MapMyRun. Suggested routes include:

- 3 Mile route
- 2 Mile loop
A Trail Treasure Chase adds a game element on the trails: participants find checkpoints to collect cards toward a poker hand, and the best hand is declared during the event. Barn-tivities include lawn and table games, a Ringshoes tournament, a Lawn Games Pentathlon, a Great Puzzle Race, crafts such as tie-dye, and music. The Barn party provides hot-off-the-grill BBQ, sides, beer, wine, seltzers, soft drinks, and a souvenir.
Practical notes: trails may have slippery sections, stream crossings, rocks, roots, thorns, and insects. Organizers provide a basic first aid kit but there is no on-site medical staff; emergency services will be contacted if needed. Attendees are asked to follow Leave No Trace principles and recycling guidelines. Recommended items include sturdy trail shoes, water bottle or hydration pack, sunscreen, bug spray, ID for alcoholic beverages, and optional blankets or chairs for the Barn area.
