Stump Jump 50K and 10 Miler

The Stump Jump offers two trail distances on sandstone-strewn routes atop Signal Mountain and Walden Ridge at Shackleford Ridge County Park, Signal Mountain, Tennessee. The course is about 90% single-track and passes the Tennessee River Gorge and coves with streams, hemlock, and rhododendron.

  • 10 Mile
  • 50K (elevation gain over 5000 ft)

The 50K includes multiple aid stations with a mix of light and full support; named locations on the course include Edwards Point, Mushroom Rock, Indian Rock House, Snoopers Rock, Haley Road, Mullen's Cove Parking Lot, and the finish. Runners are asked to bring a cup for aid stations. The 50K has a 10-hour finish cutoff with intermediate cutoffs at Indian Rock House and Mullen's Cove; the 10 Mile has a four-hour cutoff.

Event logistics note that packet pickup is offered the day before at Hello Monty on Main and on race-site at the start/finish area. All races start and finish at the Signal Mountain soccer fields behind Signal Mountain High School. Race rules include no crews and no drop bags; poles are allowed. Participants receive shirts, a post-race meal, and beer from Dynamo Brewing. There are no refunds, transfers, or deferments. Camping is available on the soccer fields with no RV hookups, RVs allowed, and pavilion bathrooms accessible; camping fees benefit Signal Mountain School.
