Backyard Ultra Tailgate

The Backyard Ultra Tailgate takes place on November 7, 2026, at 819 Laurens Rd, Greenville, SC. The event uses a 5 km loop on the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Participants run the 5 km loop and begin a new lap each hour; entrants may complete one lap or repeat laps as desired.

Registration opens January 1, 2026 and closes April 30, 2026. The registration fee is $30.00.

When a runner finishes each lap there are games, raffles, vendors, and football shown on a big screen. Each lap is sponsored by a local business and carries a corresponding raffle prize awarded each hour. Completing a lap within 55 minutes earns a raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets are available for purchase to benefit OVC Kenya at $3 per ticket or 4 for $10.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to OVC Kenya, a program that partners with local churches to provide physical, academic, and relational support to vulnerable children in Kenya. The program aims to provide education, life skills development, and longer term support to help break the cycle of poverty in participating communities.

Participants may bring a lawnchair and snacks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
