Backwoods 5k, Hillsboro
The Backwoods 5k is the first annual 3.1 mile loop held in downtown Hillsboro on October 4, 2026. The course combines the historic downtown area with a short backwoods trail section and uses public roads and shared pathways.
The event is organized with a charitable purpose: all proceeds and donations will provide meal access and nourishment resources for the children of Hillsboro. Backwoods Brewing Company is identified with the event and awards are presented after the race on the Backwoods rooftop. Participants receive a commemorative Backwoods pint glass and a choice of a beer or a non alcoholic drink.
Race rules note that participants must stay on sidewalks and trail paths and obey traffic and pedestrian laws. Strollers are allowed, but the off road trail section is less stroller friendly. Bicycles, skateboards, inline skates and wagons are prohibited during the race.
