Atlanta Fat Ass 50K
The Atlanta Fat Ass is an annual trail running event held at Sweetwater State Park in Lithia Springs, GA. It is organized by GUTS and is open only to 2027 GUTS members; membership will open on November 1st. Registration for the event opens on November 11, 2026.

The course consists of six loops on the white trails, run counter-clockwise with a descent on Jack's and an ascent via the stairs. The singletrack can be technical in places with roots, rocks, and boulders. Poles are allowed though most participants do not use them. The route will be clearly marked with bright tape and flags. Start and finish are located at the park group shelter.
A crockpot chili contest provides post-race food. Participants are asked to bring chili in crockpots; GUTS supplies bowls, utensils, and some toppings. Each participant receives a ballot to vote for a favorite chili.
Race-day logistics note that packet pickup occurs at the group shelter on race morning and parking is available at the group shelter lot or adjacent areas. A Georgia State Park parking fee of $10 applies under the current rate, or visitors may use an annual state park pass; the fee is collected after arrival into the park.
