Mesquite Canyon Trail Runs
Mesquite Canyon Trail Runs take place at White Tank Mountain Regional Park in Waddell, AZ. The event offers multiple distances on desert single track and dirt roads with typical trail conditions including rocks, sand, cactus, and gravel.
Distances
- 50 Mile
- 50K
- 30K
- Half Marathon
- 8K
- Kid’s Fun Run (about 1.5 miles)
The 50K and 50 Mile courses include a hazardous section through Ford Canyon that requires basic navigational skills and some downhill rock scrambling over the White Tank rock formations. Courses feature sustained climbing and long descents, and the 50 Mile course covers roughly 49.6 miles with about 7,725 feet of elevation gain.
Aid stations are placed every 1.8 to 8.8 miles and provide water, an electrolyte drink, snacks, and fresh fruit. Note there is an 8.8 mile stretch on some courses with no aid; runners are advised to carry sufficient fluids. The Mesquite aid is remote with no ice, Goat Camp supports drop bags and ice, and Ford Canyon is a water only aid station.
The event uses chip timing with remote split points and live tracking when available. Crews are permitted at the start/finish area and Goat Camp; pacers are allowed for 50 Mile runners after the 50K mark. Course marking uses colored ribbons and signs that correspond to bib colors.
