About the race
Angry Owl Ultramarathons is a weekend of timed loop running held May 8-9, 2027, at Bush's Pasture Park in Salem, Oregon. The event offers multiple timed events on a loop course introduced in 2026 that measures 1.05 miles and combines hard packed dirt, maintained non-technical trail, packed gravel, and some asphalt.
The weekend includes these timed events:
- 24 hour run
- 12 hour run
- 6 hour run
Runners complete as many laps as they can in their selected time. Timing will use chip timing provided by Race Northwest. A single aid station near the start/finish will supply water, electrolyte drink, fruit, salty snacks, sweet snacks, and additional items; participants should bring their own bottle or cup because no cups will be provided. Runners may leave personal food near the finish area for easy access.
The start/finish area is adjacent to a small parking lot so vehicles remain accessible during the event. Participants may set up chairs and coolers near the start/finish as long as they do not impede runners or other park users. Participant tents must be placed in the grass east of the softball field fence. The event does not provide medals; each participant will receive a cap from the organizers and the event plans to provide small awards from local businesses for top finishers.
