About the race
The Salem 50k is scheduled for December 6, 2026 at Bush Park in Salem, Oregon. The event is organized by Crusty Cap and offers looped trail races in multiple distances on a 3.33 km loop entirely inside the park.
The loop is roughly half asphalt and half gravel or dirt and includes two notable climbs that account for most of the about 120 feet of elevation gain per loop.
Distances
- 50k: 15 loops of the 3.33 km course.
- 30k: 9 loops of the 3.33 km course.
- 10k: 3 loops of the 3.33 km course.
A basic aid station is located just beyond the start and finish area and is reachable every 3.33 km. The aid station will provide water, Tailwind, PB&J, fruit, sweet snacks, salty snacks, and limited hot food. Organizers do not provide cups or bottles but will store runners' cups or bottles at the aid station. The event notes that 30k and 50k participants should not rely solely on the aid station for their full nutrition plan.
The race emphasizes a simple format with no large sponsors, medals, or age-group awards. Every entrant will receive the event race cap.
