Salem 50k - December 6, 2026
The Salem 50k is an ultramarathon event held at Bush Park in Salem, Oregon and organized by Crusty Cap. The event offers multiple distances and uses a looped course entirely inside the park.
Distances
- 50k - 15 loops of the 3.33 km circuit
- 30k - 9 loops of the 3.33 km circuit
- 10k - 3 loops of the 3.33 km circuit
The course is a 3.33 km loop roughly half asphalt and half gravel or dirt. Two notable climbs account for most of the approximately 120 feet of elevation gain per loop. The start and finish are located at the bottom of the soap box derby hill off Mission Street.
A basic aid station sits just beyond the start/finish and is reachable every 3.33 km. Provided items include water, Tailwind, PB&J, fruit, sweet and salty snacks, and some limited hot food. Organizers do not provide cups or bottles but will store a runner’s cup or bottle if brought. Organizers advise 30k and 50k runners not to rely solely on the provided solid food for nutrition during the race.
The event emphasizes a simple format with no large sponsors, no medals, and no age-group awards. Every runner receives a Salem 50k race cap made by the organizers. Registration fees increase on September 1 and November 1; listed prices range from $53.50 to $98.12. Registration closes on December 4, 2026.
