Amble's Revenge
Amble's Revenge is a trail race based on the former Hunshelf Amble. The event is an undulating, mainly off-road course of approximately 7¾ miles / 12½ km with about 1,500 ft / 450 m of ascent. The race currently starts and finishes in Oxspring and passes through Green Moor. It is held around Christmas or New Year.
The event uses chip timing and provides a gift for all entrants. Entries are limited to 350 runners; pre-entry fees are listed as £14 for England Athletics registered runners and £16 for non EA registered runners, with on-the-day entry allowed for an additional £2 if the entry limit has not been reached. The minimum age to enter is 17 on the day of the race. The race is organised under UK Athletics rules with a Trail Running Association permit (no 8880).
Registration and number collection take place at Rafters Bar, adjoined to the Waggon & Horses in Oxspring, S36 8YQ.
The event follows a route similar to earlier versions: the former Hunshelf Amble originally started and finished in Green Moor and included Oxspring, while between 2014 and 2019 the Oxspring Hunshelf Amble ran a similar route in the opposite direction. A route map and GPX file are available for the current course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
