Amberaid 30 Trail Race and Petit Raid
Amberaid is a trail event in the Amber Valley, Derbyshire, close to the eastern edge of the Peak District. It offers routes over undulating countryside paths and woodland trails, starting from Ashover Village Hall where free parking is available.

- 20 miles Petit Raid (Northern Loop)
The 31 miles route makes a figure of eight through rural terrain with climbs, descents and expansive views. The route is largely unmarked; a couple of trickier navigation sections are marked and the organiser provides route notes and GPX files. Runners are advised to carry a paper map as backup.
There is a 9 hour time limit for the Amberaid route. Runners must have left CP2 by 12:30pm or they will be redirected onto the Petit Raid route. Checkpoints are positioned as follows: CP1 Tupton (7 miles), CP2 Wessington (13.5 miles), CP3 Fritchley (20 miles, Amberaid only) and CP4 Wessington (25.5 miles, Amberaid only). Every checkpoint supplies water; CP1, CP2 and CP4 also provide sweet and savoury food.
Age limit for both races is 18 or older. Every finisher receives a medal; there are prizes for first male and female in each race, light refreshments at the finish, and medic cover on the course and at race HQ. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
