About the race

The 36th Allendale Challenge will take place on Saturday 3 April 2027 in Allendale, Northumberland. The event is organised by North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team to raise funds for the charity.

The route is an anti-clockwise loop from Allendale town covering 26 miles (42 km). It passes Hard Rigg, Black Hill and Kilhope Law before returning to the town via Spartylea, The Drag and Ladlewell. The terrain and the weather on the day can both present difficult conditions. The course is popular and entries sell out each year.

Early bird entry is listed at £36 plus a processing fee. Entry includes a pin badge and a T shirt.

North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team provides search and rescue cover across the Northumbria Police area. The service is staffed entirely by volunteers and operates as a charity that relies on donations to remain operational. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
