Adventure Fest - North Fruita Desert, Fruita CO (May 8-9, 2027)
Adventure Fest is a weekend of trail and bike racing, clinics, camping, and family activities held at the North Fruita Desert trailhead. Events take place on the 18 Road trail system and nearby singletrack in Fruita, Colorado.
Distances and main events:
- 55K Spring Desert Ultra (34.8 miles, ~4,100 ft elevation gain)
- 13.8 mile Fruita Trail Half (almost 1,000 ft climbing)
- 50K Dirty Edge Gravel
- 50K Sarlacc Attack and 22K Sarlacc Zippity mountain bike races
The Spring Desert Ultra follows a loop that links the Edge Loop, Sarlacc, and Cicada trails. The course surface is stated as 100% dirt, with a listed maximum elevation near 7,298 ft. Aid stations on the ultra are named Coal Gulch, Sarlacc, Mesa, and South, with mile markers provided for each. The half marathon is a counterclockwise 13.8 mile loop with three aid stations: Chutes and Ladders, Frontside, and Western.
Camping is available on reserve at event campsites. Each site includes a fire ring, concrete picnic table, a 12' x 12' tent pad, and graveled parking; vault toilets are nearby. There is no potable water, electricity, or garbage service listed; campers must bring water, trash receptacles, and firewood. Each site is limited to ten people and two vehicles.
Aid stations offer gels, sports drink, water, skittles, and potato chips; cups and NSAIDs are not provided. Dogs on leash are allowed at the start/finish and aid stations but are not permitted on course. Racers must stay on the designated course to avoid disqualification, and the event notes the importance of avoiding damage to cryptobiotic soil.
