About the race

Golden Ears, British Columbia, hosts a 5 Peaks Trail Running Series event at Golden Ears Provincial Park. The event offers multiple marked routes on the park's trail network and is the second event in the British Columbia series.

Race distances include:

  • Kids: 1 km
  • Kids: 3 km
  • Sport Run or Hike: 7.25 km
  • Enduro Run or Hike: 12 km
  • Grit Run: 16 km

Routes and distances are subject to change based on trail conditions. A non-competitive hiking division is available; this division is led by two pace leaders, is walking-only, and has estimated finish times of about 2 hours for the Sport course and 3 hours for the Enduro course. Hikers are entered into draw prizing and do not compete for podium awards.

The event is cup-free: no cups at the start, finish, or aid stations. Water and an electrolyte drink are available at the start and finish and at one or more aid stations; the on-course electrolyte beverage is Blonyx Hydra+. Participants expected to be on course for longer than an hour should carry a receptacle for fluids and nutrition.

Safety and course rules include no dogs, no headphones, no strollers or child carriers, and no nordic walking poles except in the hiking divisions. Parking is at Lot 2 near the start and finish, approximately a two-minute walk to check-in. Optional finisher swag and medals can be pre-purchased; awards and medals must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed. Medals are sustainably sourced and made in Canada.
