Run Ridge Run
Run Ridge Run is a trail race in Port Moody, BC on Saturday, February 13, 2027, that uses trails around Sasamat and Buntzen lakes and parts of the Diez Vistas route. Distances offered:
- 13 KM
- 25 KM
Both distances include climbs, descents and technical trail sections. The 13 KM route skirts Sasamat Lake on the Buntzen Ridge Trail and offers views of Buntzen Lake. The 25 KM follows the same start, continues onto the Diez Vistas Ridge, uses the Lakeview Trail, grazes Buntzen Lake, then climbs back toward Sasamat Lake for the finish.
Each distance has one water station and one aid station. The water station is about six kilometres into both races where the courses split. Aid stations are located at approximately KM 8.5 on the 13 KM and KM 18 on the 25 KM. Aid station supplies include gels, waffles, energy drink mix, Coke, water, chips, oranges, bananas and cookies.
A Kids Race of about 1 KM is offered; it is untimed, non competitive, free to enter, and typically includes participants aged about 3 to 10. Kids receive special bibs, finisher stickers and entry into random prize draws; parents are asked to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early for check in and pre race activities.
Other details: package pickup takes place Friday evening and Saturday morning with ID required; bag check at the start finish is unmonitored; the event is cup free so participants must carry their own cup; poles are not allowed on any distance. The long course has one cutoff at the KM 18 aid station with a cutoff time of 1:30 pm or 4.5 hours. Registration opens Dec 4 at 7am PCT. Entry fees and race caps: 13 KM CDN$95 cap 250; 25 KM CDN$125 cap 350. Each entry includes a $5 donation to Coquitlam Search & Rescue, one tree planted, a branded beer glass and tote, race sticker, post race soup and sushi, post race massage, and professional chip timing.
