This event is the fourth stop in the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series in Central Alberta at the Canmore Nordic Centre. The venue hosted the nordic and biathlon events of the 1988 Winter Olympics and offers a network of singletrack and doubletrack used by hikers, runners, and mountain bikers in summer. Race distances are listed below; maps, elevation gain and loss, and aid station locations are provided by the organizer and race materials. Race distances and maps may change based on trail conditions up to the day of the race.

The start and finish are located on the main stadium with mountain views; a DJ is used at the start/finish area. The course includes hard hill climbs, technical and flowy singletrack, notable elevation gain, and loops through lower and upper trail sections with opportunities to pass and see other runners. Safety rules include no dogs, no headphones, no strollers or baby joggers, and hiking poles only permitted in non-competitive hiking categories. Bear spray is required for Sport, Enduro, and Grit participants; children in the 1 km and 3 km events are not required to carry bear spray and additional volunteers will carry spray on those courses. Washrooms are available at the start/finish. Parking is in main or overflow lots near the Day Lodge and a Kananaskis Pass is required for the day. The event is cup free; water and electrolyte drink are available at start/finish and at one or more aid stations. Swag and finisher medals are not included with registration, must be pre-purchased or picked up at the race, and will not be mailed. Awards are given to the top three finishers by gender in each age and distance category and to the top three male and female overall. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
