Litton Birks Fell Race
Litton Birks Fell Race is an AS race held on a 5 km route through Littondale and Upper Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The senior course includes around 362 m of ascent and a new course was adopted in 2024. Registration and prize giving take place at the Queens Arms pub in Litton. Teas, coffees, soft drinks and cakes will be available in a beer garden tent; those wishing to eat at the pub are asked to pre-book.
Junior races are scheduled for 2026 in the following age groups. Age category is based on age on 1st May 2025 and the minimum age for juniors on the day is 6 years. Minimum age for the senior race is 17 years.
- 5 km with about 362 m of ascent (senior AS race)
- U9: 0.8 km with 22 m ascent
- U12: 1.6 km with 63 m ascent
- U14: 1.9 km with 103 m ascent
- U17: 3.2 km with 219 m ascent
Parking is provided in a field about 300 m from the start with signs and marshals directing vehicles. Entry fees listed include FRA Member £5.00 and Non Member £6.00 for seniors; junior entry is £3 on the day only. Participants are asked to carry map, compass, whistle, waterproof top and bottoms with taped seams, hat and gloves. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
