The ZombieRunner Halloween takes place on October 31, 2026 at Hellyer County Park (Buena Vista Pavilion) in San Jose, CA. Races follow the Coyote Creek trail and include multiple distance options: - **5K** - **10K** - **Half Marathon** - **Marathon** - **5K (12 yo & under)** - **5K (13 - 17 yo)** - **10K (12 yo & under)** - **10K (13 - 17 yo)** - **Kid's Run (6 yo & younger, 50 yd dash)** The Half Marathon (CA21023TEB) and Marathon (CA22026TEB) courses are USATF certified. The routes are described as relatively flat, signed throughout, and mostly asphalt; the half and full marathons include about 2% single-track trail and 98% asphalt. Event logistics note that a park entrance pass is provided and participants will receive a pass to present at the park kiosk.
Parking is $6 per vehicle. Bib and shirt pick-up occur at Hellyer County Park. To guarantee a shirt, registration must be completed at least ten business days before the event.
Marathon drop bags are permitted at the start/finish. Aid stations are fully stocked every 2 to 4 miles with fruit, salty snacks, candy, water, and electrolyte drink; participants are advised to carry at least 20 oz of water between stations. The event is cupless; runners should bring a personal fluid container. Headphones are allowed on dirt-road sections only and are prohibited on single-track, when crossing paved roads, at aid stations, or while crossing the finish line.
No dogs are allowed on the course. Awards include T-shirts for pre-registered runners, a custom medal for all finishers, age-group medals, and overall male and female cash and race-credit awards (1st $50, 2nd $35, 3rd $20).
