The Half Marathon and Marathon courses are USATF certified. The course is described as relatively flat, marked with directional signage, and mostly on asphalt; single-track comprises about 2 percent of the half marathon and marathon routes. Course surfaces: 5K and 10K 100 percent asphalt.
Aid stations are placed every 2 to 4 miles and provide fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, water, and Skratch electrolyte drink. Runners are advised to carry at least 20 oz. of water between aid stations. The event is cupless; participants are asked to bring their own fluid container. A Hydrapak SpeedCup is available for purchase at check-in.
Logistics include an included park entrance pass (print and present at the kiosk) and $6 parking per vehicle. Bib and shirt pick-up begins before race day; shirts are guaranteed for those registered at least ten business days prior. Drop bags are allowed for the marathon. A Halloween costume contest awards prizes to participants who ran in costume. Finishers receive custom medals; top finishers receive awards and race credits.
