Zombierunner Halloween

Event details

ZombieRunner Halloween is held on October 31, 2026, at Hellyer County Park (Buena Vista Pavilion) in San Jose, CA 95111. The event features multiple race distances and youth divisions. The Half Marathon and Marathon courses are USATF certified. Bib and shirt pick-up are available on race day at the park. Parking is $6 per vehicle. A Halloween costume contest is held; runners must compete in costume to qualify.

Course and logistics

The course is described as relatively flat and will be marked with directional signage. Surfaces by distance: 5K and 10K are 100% asphalt; Half Marathon and Marathon are about 98% asphalt and 2% single-track. Aid stations are provided every 2 to 4 miles with fresh fruit, salty snacks, assorted candy, water, and Skratch electrolyte drink. The event operates a cupless policy; runners are asked to bring their own fluid container. Drop bags are permitted for the Marathon at the Start/Finish. Dogs are not allowed on the course. Headphones are allowed only on dirt road sections and are not allowed on single-track trail, while crossing paved roads, at aid stations, or when crossing the finish line.

Timing and awards

Timing uses MyLaps Bibtags and gun time; results are published regularly. All finishers receive a custom medal. Pre-registered runners receive shirts. Overall top three male and female finishers in each distance receive race credit prizes; top three in each age group receive medals. The Marathon has a 7.5 hour time limit; all events list a 7.5 hour overall limit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
