Event details

ZombieRunner Halloween takes place on October 31, 2026, at Hellyer County Park (Buena Vista Pavilion), 985 Hellyer Ave, San Jose, CA 95111. The event offers multiple race distances and youth categories:

• 5K
• 10K
• Half Marathon
• Marathon
• 5K (12 yo & under)
• 5K (13 - 17 yo)
• 10K (12 yo & under)
• 10K (13 - 17 yo)
• Kid's Run (6 yo & younger, 50 yd dash) - Free
• Coastal Testing

Bib and shirt pick-up is handled on race day at the park; participants are asked to arrive about 45 minutes before their event. Parking at the venue is $6 per vehicle. Drop bags are allowed for the marathon at the Start/Finish.

Course, aid, and rules

Races run along the Coyote Creek trail. The Half Marathon and Marathon courses are USATF certified (CA21023TEB and CA22026TEB). Surfaces:

• 5K and 10K: asphalt (100%)
• Half Marathon and Marathon: single track (2%) and asphalt (98%)

Fully stocked aid stations are placed every 2 - 4 miles, offering fruit, salty snacks, candy, water, and Skratch electrolyte drink. Runners are advised to carry at least 20 oz of water between stations. The event is cupless; participants should bring their own fluid container. Headphones are allowed only on dirt road sections and must not be worn on single-track trail, when crossing paved roads, at aid stations, or at the finish.

Results and awards

Timing uses MyLaps BibTags and gun time; results are published online during the event. All pre-registered runners receive T-shirts and all finishers receive a custom medal. Overall top three male and female finishers per distance receive awards plus race credits ($50, $35, $20); top three in each age group and gender receive medals.
