Whiteface Mountain Races : Wilmington, NY, July 4, 2026

The event offers multiple mountain running races on and around Whiteface Mountain near Wilmington, NY. The course features very large vertical gain and loss per mile and steep terrain that is not highly technical. Climbs push aerobic capacity and descents place heavy strain on quads and toes.

Race options include a combined Mountain Race (one loop) and Sky Race (two loops) allowing credit for both, plus the Vert Junky combo, a Vertical K, and a Kids Ascent. Entrants may register for individual races or choose the Vert Junky to double up.

Entry fee covers race entry and a tee shirt; a finishers item may also be provided. Poles are permitted on course. The organizer does not offer refunds; registrations may be transferred to a future entry if the organizer is notified no later than May 1. No refunds are available after May 1. Race-day registration is not available; registration closes on July 1 at 11:59 PM ET.

A post-race Sunday group run program is offered in the High Peaks in some years. Past sessions assembled into experience-based groups, included product demos, lasted about two to four hours, and limited groups to ten participants. Participants should bring hydration, nutrition, a wind or waterproof jacket, a headlamp, and a way to carry these items. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
