The Whiteface Mountain Races, held at Whiteface Mountain Ski Resort in Wilmington, NY, are among the most challenging mountain running events in the U.S., featuring extreme vertical gain and loss per mile. The main race, the Marshak Mountain Race, offers a 10K loop with about 3,800 feet of elevation gain and loss, or a grueling 21K double loop with roughly 7,700 feet of vertical change. Additionally, the Ascent race is a steep 2.3-mile climb gaining 3,100 feet directly to the summit. The event also includes a 1-mile Kids Klymber and social group runs on Sunday.
