The West Texas Ultra is a trail running event at Lake Meredith National Recreation Area near Fritch, TX. The event offers multiple trail distances over a dirt single track course that begins and ends at the South Turkey Creek Trailhead.

The course uses Turkey, Harbor Bay, and Fritch Fortress trails and includes roughly 30 miles of unique trail routing. The 50 mile course features rugged hills with approximately 4500 feet of elevation gain and loss. Historic average temperatures for the event period range from about 44 to 72 degrees. This is a no cup race; participants should plan to use their own water carrying system.
Packet pickup is provided and participants receive a bib and race T-shirt at pickup. Finishers receive collectible medals, with 50K and 50M inscriptions for those distances, plus a West Texas Ultra RUCK patch. Prizes include first place awards by gender for each distance and a DFL award for the 50M distance. Race services include aid station food and hydration, course marking and support, and event photography.
The event is part of the Texas Ultra Series; collected finisher medals from series races combine to form the State of Texas and full series finishers receive a special wooden case. Top finishers by distance in Texas Ultra races can qualify for the Big Texas Ultra 100K Championship near Austin for prize money and title.
