Water Gap 50k and Half - Milford, PA - September 26, 2026

This event, organized by Happily Running, offers trail races on the McDade Trail from Smithfield Beach in Milford, Pennsylvania. Distances offered include:

  • 50K
  • 25K

The course follows the McDade Trail along the Delaware River. The surface is primarily rail-trail cinder with some singletrack. The route is non-technical, rolling and mainly flat, and it is marked with pink survey flags that are sparser on open sections and denser at turns. Runners receive a full briefing on the morning of the event.

The race uses an out and back layout from Smithfield Beach. The 50K turnaround requires runners to take a poker chip and carry it to the finish. The 25K turnaround is located at the second aid station, and the 25K course is noted as slightly long.

There are three aid stations offering standard ultra fare and a limited selection of Huma gels. This is a cupless course so participants should bring their own cup. Bib numbers are tracked at every aid station.

Drop bags may be left at Bushkill Access and should be marked with bib number and last name. Post race food includes tacos, potatoes, and a black bean salad. Results are posted by Sunday night. Volunteer hours earn race credit for future Happily Running events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
