Water Gap 50K and Half

The Water Gap 50K and Half is a trail event in Milford, PA, organized by Happily Running and scheduled for September 26, 2026. It uses the McDade Trail and the Delaware River valley corridor, with the race staged at Smithfield Beach.

The course runs mainly on rail-trail cinder with some singletrack. It is described as non-technical, rolling, mainly flat and mainly fast. The route is an out and back on the McDade Trail; the 50K has a designated turnaround where runners collect a poker chip. The 25K uses the same start area and turns at the second aid station, and is noted as slightly long.

There are three staffed aid stations on course, including Park HQ, Bushkill Access and Eshback Access. The event is cupless, so runners should bring their own cup. Drop bags are available at Bushkill Access and must be marked with bib number and last name; bags are placed in marked bins at Smithfield Beach before the 50K start and are returned after the final runner clears Bushkill.

Post-race provisions include tacos, potatoes and a black bean salad. Results are posted by Sunday night. The organizer does not offer cash refunds; deferral credits are available up to eight weeks before the race and are valid for 365 days, with exceptions for military deployment and pregnancy.
