Vertical Slam Ultimate Challenge Beatton River Valley

The Vertical Slam Ultimate Challenge is a trail event held at the Beatton River Valley Viewpoint Trail in Cecil Lake, British Columbia. This event functions as a fundraiser to support local school food programs. Participants can choose to run or hike the courses, which feature rolling terrain.

The event offers three different distance options, each with varying levels of elevation gain:

  • 5 km: includes approximately 150 meters of elevation gain.
  • 10 km: a route of approximately 10 km with around 450 meters of gain.
  • 21 km: a long-distance route with close to 1,000 meters of elevation gain.

For the 2026 edition, the organizers have implemented a course reversal. The 10 km route will take place on the section typically used for the second half of the 21 km race, while the 21 km participants will finish their race on the original 10 km route.

The event has no time cut-offs, allowing individuals to complete their chosen distance at their own pace. Bib pick-up is scheduled for the day before the race. The event operates under a strict no-refund policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
