The Valhalla Winter Run 2025 is a 6 hour timed, lapped trail event at the University of York Sports Centre, YO10 5FG. The course is undulating and uses an out-and-back route of 2.2 miles per lap. Entrants choose how many laps to run: options listed include completing 1 lap, 6 laps for a half marathon, or 13 laps for a marathon, or continuing for the full 6 hours. Maximum entry is 100. Entries close 06/12/2025. Minimum age is 9 years. The event is currently listed as full.

Course, facilities and rules

Free parking is available at York University. Toilet facilities are available at York Sports Centre before, during and after the event. This is a cupless event; runners should bring a labelled bottle or cup to place on the start/finish table for refills. Water and squash will be available, and bottles can be filled before, during or after the event. A staffed aid station will provide sweets, savoury snacks and fresh fruit. All runners receive a bespoke medal (new for 2025) and a goody bag; homemade cake, mulled wine and other festive items will be provided. Race numbers are collected from Race Registration on the morning of the event and final race information is e-mailed the week before.
