Umatilla Rim Ripper

The Umatilla Rim Ripper is a trail running event in Tollgate, Oregon, hosted by Run Oregon. The courses follow mostly single track on the Umatilla Rim Trail with a short section of forest service access road and offer views of the North Fork Umatilla Wilderness.

Distances offered:

• 23 miler (22.8 miles) approximately 2324 ft vertical gain
• Half marathon (13.6 miles) approximately 1,434 ft vertical gain
• 11K (6.8 miles) approximately 691 ft vertical gain
• 7K (4.5 miles) approximately 423 ft vertical gain

Courses are marked with colored flagging tape at major intersections and include occasional confidence markers; runners are responsible for navigation and staying on the trail. The course remains open to the public and other users such as mountain bikers, horses, and motor vehicles may be present on road sections. Pacers and pets are not allowed. Spectators and crew may attend the Start/Finish area and aid stations but should avoid the course.

Aid stations vary by distance and provide water and electrolytes; the 23 miler stations also offer fuel such as gels and snacks. This is a cup less course so runners must carry a drinking vessel; a limited number of reusable bottles will be available for purchase with cash. Parking is at Andes Prairie Snopark and the Start/Finish is at Horseshoe Prairie off Oregon Highway 204. There will be portable toilets, finish snacks, and a bag staging area that is not secured. The event is USATF sanctioned and permitted by the Walla Walla Ranger District, Umatilla National Forest. Registration closes Wed, Sep 23 at 11:59 PM PT. There will be a 2pm cutoff for the event.
