Umatilla Rim Ripper is a trail running event organized by Run Oregon in Tollgate, Oregon on September 26, 2026. The event offers four marked trail distances, runs mostly on single track along the Umatilla Rim Trail, and includes short sections of forest service access road and some paved road where vehicles may be present.
- 23-miler (22.8 mi) 18.5 miles on single track; ~2324 ft vertical gain
- Half marathon (13.6 mi) mostly single track; ~1,434 ft vertical gain
- 11K (6.8 mi) single track portion; ~691 ft vertical gain
- 7K (4.5 mi) single track start; ~423 ft vertical gain
Courses are marked with colored flagging tape at major intersections and occasional confidence markers; runners are responsible for navigation. The course is not closed to the public and other users such as mountain bikers, horses, or motor vehicles may be present; runners should yield and use caution.
Aid stations: four on the 23-miler, two on the half marathon, and one each on the 11K and 7K, providing water and electrolytes; the 23-miler stations also offer fuel. There is an aid station at the start/finish. This is a cup-less course and runners must carry a drinking vessel; reusable bottles will be available for purchase with cash.
Start/finish is at Horseshoe Prairie off Oregon Highway 204 with parking at Andes Prairie Snopark. Bib pickup occurs the morning of the event. Pacers and pets are not allowed. The event is USATF sanctioned and permitted by the Walla Walla Ranger District. Beneficiaries for 2026 are Weston Middle School Athletic Program and Athena Weston Youth Sports.
