Event overview
The Ultra-Trail des Chic-Chocs is a trail running festival held in the Chic-Chocs massif and Parc national de la Gaspésie area. The 7th edition is scheduled for 21 to 23 August 2026. The mountain terrain includes more than 25 summits above 1 000 m and the routes are reported to be technical, with about 98% singletrack.
The event features eight race distances:
- 170 km (linear)
- 88 km (linear)
- 45 km (Des Chic-Chocs)
- 39 km (Réserve faunique Matane)
- 26 km (Mont-Xalibu)
- 23 km (Mont-Albert)
- 10 km (Lac aux Américains)
- 4 km (children; reserved for 17 years and under)
Registration and logistics
Registration opens 3 November 2025. Registration fees include access to the Village UTCC, podium ceremony, toilets and showers, on-site entertainment, customer service, and the daily SÉPAQ access fee of 9.25 $ for the race day with the competitor bib. Medals are produced on demand; registrations made 30 days or less before the event may not receive a medal. A fee of 30 $ applies to register a pacer for the 170 km race.
Camping VR is available at the intersection of Route 14 and Route 299 (Chem. de Ceinture des Monts McGerrigle, Mont-Albert). Parking rules: do not park along Route 299; park on the north side of Route 14; Centre de découverte et de services parking is reserved for its clientele; no vehicles are allowed between the two Village entrances or on the event site.
