Ultimate Hawaiian Trail Run : event overview
The Ultimate Hawaiian Trail Run is an annual trail event held at the Omao Track in Kauai, Hawaii. The 13th edition is scheduled for August 1, 2026. The event combines ruck, run, and walk activities and directs proceeds to the Keala Foundation to fund free fitness and wellness programs for keiki. The foundation’s programs provide role models, healthy outlets, and supportive spaces aimed at helping young people avoid substance use.
Event logistics are organized at the Omao Track off Kaumualii Highway, with signage for the event and free parking on site; carpooling is encouraged. On race day the program includes registration, a safety briefing, a GORUCK segment, and a main shotgun start for racers. There is no gear check available; many participants leave belongings with family or in their vehicles.
Participants are advised to bring water or race day hydration, a trash bag for muddy clothes, extra clothes to change into after the run, and a friend or family member to accompany them.
