True Grit Blackwood River

True Grit returns to Linga Longa Estate on the Blackwood River for an obstacle event held across two days in October 2026. The course uses natural terrain and a military style obstacle layout with running, crawling and climbing elements.

Distances offered:

• 10km Elite - timed, prizes for top three, minimum age 16
• 10km - classic course, minimum age 16
• 5km - shorter course with 15 plus obstacles, minimum age 12

Obstacles are designed for the location and include carries, traverse ropes, monkey bars, wall climbs, rope climbs, pontoon bridges, sandbag carries, tyre walls, cargo nets and other climbs. The event uses a wave system with frequent staggered starts to manage flow.

Facilities and services noted for participants include onsite camping options (assigned premium caravan spots and open general camping), toilets and showers with hot water available in the evening and early morning, parking for a fee, spectator entry at no charge, bag drop for a gold coin donation, and access to medical treatment and water on site. Finishers receive a t shirt and an electrolyte drink; an optional finisher beer is available.
