The Triple Lakes Trail Race includes three distances:

  • 40 Mile
  • Marathon
  • Half Marathon

The race takes place at Bur-Mil Park in Greensboro, North Carolina, and runs on watershed trails around Lake Brandt, Lake Townsend, and Lake Jeanette. The course is described as well marked and supported with multiple aid stations. The race is part of the Trail Mega Medal series; medals for this series connect to form a larger medal.

Course and logistics

The start and finish are located at the back of Bur-Mil Park. Parking is available in two paved lots near the park entrance (from Owl’s Roost Road) and there is limited grass parking closer to the start/finish. Participants should expect about a 0.3 mile walk from the park entrance to the race start. Volunteers will assist with parking. Post-race food and beverages are provided.

Registration, timing and awards

Registrations include a custom race shirt (shirts guaranteed only for registrations more than two weeks before race day for regular registration), chip timing with disposable bib-chips, split timing, and live tracking through the RaceJoy app. Awards are given to top finishers by gender in each distance and to top relay teams. Age group awards cover these brackets: 0-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+. The refund policy states no refunds within 30 days of the event; earlier requests may be eligible for a 50% refund excluding processing fees. Entries can be transferred to another individual for a $5 fee; t-shirt size cannot be changed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
