Event Overview
The XTERRA Transcend Trail Run is an event held at Dickerson Mine Preserve in Randolph, New Jersey. This is the sixth edition of the event. It is a qualifier for the 2027 XTERRA Trail Run World Championships.
Distances
Participants can choose from three trail run distances:
- Half Marathon Trail Run: Two laps of a 6.8-mile loop.
- 10K Trail Run: One lap of a 6.8-mile loop.
- 5K Trail Run: A 3.1-mile course.
Course Details
The courses consist of singletrack trails. The half marathon and 10K loop is 6.8 miles long with approximately 400 feet of elevation gain per loop. The 5K course is 3.1 miles long with about 170 feet of elevation gain.
Venue and Post-Race
The start, lap point, and finish line are located at the Black River Barn, which features lakeside views. The event is held rain or shine.
Registration and Participation
Registration for the event closes on the Thursday prior. Finishers may receive a limited edition coffee mug, subject to availability. Age group awards are offered for the half marathon and 10K distances, with top overall awards for the 5K. A portion of the event proceeds will be donated to JORBA (Jersey Off Road Biking Association).
Participant Information
Runners are advised to bring specific gear, including a charged cell phone with the RideWithGPS app (or similar), a hydration pack or water bottle, a minimum of 200 calories of food, and a whistle. Trail running shoes are recommended. The main parking is at Black River Barn, with extended parking available for half marathon participants at a nearby location.
