Trail of Hope 5K Challenge
Laredo, United States • 26 Sep 2026
Event overview
The Awareness Warriors Foundation organizes the 2nd Annual Trail of Hope 5K Challenge during Suicide Prevention Month with the stated theme Remembering 17; Supporting the Many. The event combines a team based 5K with obstacle and mission stations, a 1K family walk, and a community area offering mental health and wellness resources.
Participants move through a series of obstacles and activity stations designed to encourage communication, trust, support, and resilience. Teams are formed on a first come, first served basis; registration options include registering as a Warrior (individual placed on a team), a Battle Buddy (pair placed together), or as a Guardian of Hope for the 1K walk. Participant times may be recorded, but the event is not centered on competition, rankings, or awards.
The on site program includes a Community Resource and Wellness Village with mental health, veteran, and community organizations; a Fitness and Activity Zone with interactive wellness activities; a vehicle showcase with truck and motorcycle displays; and food vendors and refreshments. Free parking is available at the venue, Father Charles M. McNaboe Park in Laredo, TX.
Participation requirements include a minimum age of 10 for the 5K. Participants ages 10–12 must be accompanied by a participating parent or legal guardian. Minors under 18 must have a signed parent or guardian waiver and permission form. Registration fees are non refundable unless the organizer cancels the event. Participant donations support the foundation's suicide prevention, outreach, and program efforts and may help fund future educational opportunities and scholarships.
