Tough Topanga is a trail running event organized by SoCalTrail at Topanga State Park, Trippet Ranch (20828 Entrada Road, Topanga, CA). The event is the first race of the Bulldog Challenge Series and has a total prize purse of $2,500, including cash awards of $500 to overall male and female winners in the 10k and 15k and $250 for each male and female Downhill Mile split winner. All participants receive a locally made finisher medal and a race tee. Post-race provisions include complimentary breakfast tacos and hot beverages, a beer garden for participants 21+ with two complimentary finisher beers, sports massage services, same-day chip timing and results, marked courses, staffed aid stations, and on-course medical support. A portion of proceeds will be donated to LA Fire Station 69. All SoCalTrail events are CUPLESS.

Courses and logistics

• 15k - 9.23 miles, 1,780' vertical
  The Garapito Singletrack route departs Trippet Ranch onto fire roads and singletrack, follows historic switchbacks into canyon sections, and includes sustained climbs and a final downhill mile.

• 10k - 6.24 miles, 1,198' vertical
  The Classic follows groomed fire roads with steep, broken climbs, a highpoint near mile 2, and a final downhill mile.

• Kids 1k - 0.56 miles, 143' vertical

Free off-site parking with shuttle service is provided on Topanga Canyon Boulevard. Limited on-site parking is available and street parking is first-come, subject to posted regulations. There is limited cell service in Topanga Canyon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
