The Tortoise and the Hare Trail Races take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Lions Park, 8 Lions Way, Salisbury, MA 01952. The event offers timed road or trail events and a non-timed color run that occur within the Salisbury Trail System.

Packet pickup is available Friday at the Salisbury Senior Center (43 Lafayette Rd) from 11:00 to 2:00 PM. Check-in and race-day registration open at Lions Park under the pavilion. Entry fees vary by registration date; the Color Run entry includes a t-shirt.

The Color Run routes include color stations at each quarter mile where participants are doused in colored powder. Participants are advised some wear glasses or goggles and a bandana or dust mask; the powder mostly washes out of clothing with prompt laundering.

All courses are contained within the Salisbury Trail System. Dry fit, unisex custom t-shirts are guaranteed for participants who register before April 1. Awards are available for top 3 overall men and women, top 3 in each listed age group, and top 3 non-binary; no double dipping. Awards are claimed at the black High5EM pop up tent on the basketball court.

Post-race provisions include packaged snacks, fruit, and music by Evolvement Radio. Participants 21 and older receive one complimentary beer on site via the bib ticket. One hundred percent of net proceeds will be allocated to Salisbury Parks and Recreation.

The event is managed by High5EM. Races proceed rain, snow or shine unless conditions are deemed dangerous. A free deferral and transfer policy is in effect through March 14; refunds or deferrals after that date may incur a $10 administration fee. If the event must be cancelled for safety, organizers will seek a postponement date but refunds are not guaranteed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
