The Tissington Trail January Half Marathon & 10k Weekend is a two-day running event held on the Tissington Trail between Ashbourne and Buxton. Races are held on Saturday and Sunday, and entrants may choose one or both days. The course is traffic free and multi-terrain, with a gentle uphill gradient on the outward leg and a slight downhill gradient on the return. Route maps and GPX files are provided.

Advance entry prices are listed between £29 and £38. On-the-day entry fees, subject to availability, are listed as Half Marathon £45 and 10k £35. Age limits are 17 and over for the half marathon, and 15 and over for the 10k.

Location and facilities

The event start is at Mappleton Rd, Ashbourne, DE6 2AA. Race HQ is Ashbourne Leisure Centre, Clifton Road, DE6 1DR, about a 10 minute walk from the start. There are several pay and display car parks in the town within walking distance of Race HQ. A ladies only trail half marathon in Sutton Scarsdale following a scenic out and back route under the April full moon. Enjoy campfire refreshments and a supportive atmosphere while raising funds for Women’s Aid.

Multi-distance Easter races take place around Chasewater Reservoir at Chasewater Country Park, offering a junior run and distances to 20k. The event features route maps, bespoke medals, free photographs and volunteer support.

Tackle a classic spring fell race in Mow Cop on Sun 12 Apr 2026: 10.5 km with 400 m of climb across stirring hill terrain. Entries on the day for adults 18 and over, with team scoring and friendly club spirit.

A short fell race in Wirksworth that climbs to a trig point and returns over trails and fields. The main course is about 6.9 km and there are separate short and junior races for younger runners.
