The WESSENDEN 27KM is a circular multi-terrain trail race in Colne Valley, West Yorkshire. Starting and finishing at Colne Valley High School in Linthwaite, the 27-kilometre route threads country lanes, woodland trails and catchwaters, offering scenic moorland sections and a largely runnable profile. The course is mostly waymarked, with some open moorland stretches where navigation with a map or GPS helps.

It is inclusive and open to all, including hikers and LDWA, with a start option if requested and participants aged 18+. The event features feed stations, marshals, tail walkers, rescue support and prizes, with proceeds going to local primary schools as part of HUTFEST. A short fell race near Cracoe on Sunday 19 July 2026 covering 2.60 miles with about 900 feet of climb. The route crosses fields, includes a trailer and a wall to climb, rough ground and a final steep ascent.

A navigational run from Chinley Community Centre to six red phone boxes that house lifesaving defibrillators. The 10+ km route uses a paper map and stamps and raises funds for the defibs upkeep and replacement.

Tackle the rugged Bowland slopes at the Hapton Fell Race, a challenging 5 miles with about 400 m of climb near Burnley. Day of entry makes it ideal for last minute plans and friendly club rivalry.

Experience a two lap trail race through 400 acres of historic parkland at Alderley Park. This five mile course features scenic views of an arboretum and lakes and includes a technical finisher t-shirt for all participants.
