The Trailway Trail Race takes place on October 10, 2026 at Lake Somerville State Park, Birch Creek Unit, 14222 Park Road 57, Somerville, TX 77879. The event hub sits at the park edge of the lake and includes a lawn area for spectators. Nearby towns include Somerville, Brenham, and Caldwell; larger cities listed are Bryan, College Station, Austin, Waco, and Houston.

The course follows a lollipop style loop that hugs much of the lake shoreline. Sections alternate between open, lake-exposed trail and fully canopied forest. Terrain is mostly flat with gentle rolling sections, hard packed rooted areas, and stretches of sand or loose soil. The route includes an out-and-back segment beyond the Wolf Pond aid station for certain distances; Wolf Pond has a marked turnaround.

Course wayfinding uses orange caution tape, yellow arrows, and numerous confidence markers; signs at intersections indicate distance-specific turns. Markings include reflectors for low-light conditions.

Aid station support is provided on course with water, ice, VFuel gels, Tailwind, Coke, ginger ale, sweet and salty foods, and fruit. The Start/Finish aid station offers additional fresh fruit and sodas. Drop bags and personal supplies may be left at aid stations except at Wolf Pond.

Additional features include a Friday night pre-race tailgate with packet pickup, a youth mile that is untimed with a finisher medal, a Ruck division with mandatory pack weights and weigh-ins, and on-site camping options within the state park.
