Trailway Trail Race
The Trailway Trail Race takes place at Lake Somerville State Park in Somerville, Texas. This park system consists of two units linked by a path known as The Trailway, which features natural habitats and local wildlife. The race routes are primarily located within the Birch Creek Unit, utilizing park trails that pass through canopied and rolling terrain situated near the lake.
The event offers several trail running distances to accommodate various preferences:
- 50k
- 26.2 Miles (Standard and Ruck options)
- 13.1 Miles
- 10k (Standard and Ruck options)
- 5k
- 1 Mile (Youth Trail Run for ages 12 and under)
The start and finish area is located on a large grass lawn at the edge of the lake. The Youth 1-Mile Trail Run is approximately one mile long, and parents are permitted to run with their children. Young participants in this category receive a finisher's medal.
Participants should note that a park access fee is collected during the registration process for one day of entry. All racers receive event swag, though shirts are guaranteed only for those who register by the mid-September deadline. For the youth event, shirts are available as an additional purchase.
