The Sticks
The Sticks is a timed ultra style race held on a farmstead outside of Norton, KS. The event offers multiple continuous time options during which participants complete the same 3/4.25-mile loop repeatedly. Distances are determined by the time option each runner chooses.

The course combines mowed pasture and dirt road. It is not described as highly technical but includes rolling hills and uneven mowed pasture. One well stocked aid station at the start and finish area will be manned around the clock for the duration of the events.
Event logistics include free camping at the start and finish area with porta potties and room for pop up and crew areas. A shower is available at the race location. Additional camping is available at Prairie Dog State Park. Norton is about nine miles from the course and lists a Pizza Hut, Sonic, a Mexican restaurant, and a hotel nearby.
Operational rules note a 75 participant cap and a strict limit of one vehicle per runner including crew. No refunds. Runners must check in at the start and finish before each new loop and must check with race staff before leaving and when returning. Only full laps count and runners receive credit for mileage accumulated when they stop. Pacers are allowed after 24 hours; they are not allowed for the 6, 12, or 24 hour options. Entrants must be 18 to run unless a parent is present for the entire event and must be 21 to consume alcohol. No unattended children are permitted. Bottled water will not be provided and runners are advised to bring a means to carry water.
Race food and support at the start and finish will include Proxima C and typical ultra style fare, with hot food and overnight soup options. All runners receive a The Sticks race shirt. Custom belt buckles are awarded for ultra distance milestones and medals are awarded for a 26.2 mile achievement. Certain mileage accomplishments earn complimentary entry into a subsequent event.
