The Sticks : Norton, KS
The Sticks is a set of timed endurance events held on a farmstead outside Norton, Kansas, organized by Ultraverse Supplements. The event offers multiple duration options and uses a professionally chip-timed system with live lap tracking updated after each completed lap.
Participants run a repeatable loop course that combines mowed pasture and dirt road. The primary loop is approximately 3 miles and may be run repeatedly for the chosen time duration. There is an optional 4.3 mile dirt road loop available during two one-hour windows every six hours; a runner may start that loop any time within the window and is not required to finish within the window. The terrain includes rolling hills and uneven mowed pasture; the course is not described as highly technical.
On-course support includes a single well-stocked aid station at the start/finish, manned continuously for the duration of the events, and an indoor shower available on site. Free camping and porta-potties are provided at the start/finish area; vehicle parking is limited to one vehicle per runner. Rules include a strict 75-participant cap, no bib transfers, and lap-counting that credits only full completed laps. Pacers are permitted only after the 24-hour mark. Age limits apply for running and for alcohol consumption. Awards include distance-specific belt buckles and event apparel, with additional entry credits and lifetime recognitions for certain mileage achievements.
