The Sticks - Norton, KS
Norton, United States • 28-31 May 2026
Event overview
The Sticks is a timed, multi-duration running event held on a farmstead outside Norton, KS. It offers five time options: 72-hour, 48-hour, 24-hour, 12-hour, and 6-hour. The course uses a repeated loop format and runners complete as many full laps as they can within their chosen time. Registration closes May 22.
Course, logistics and rules
The course is a combination of mowed pasture and dirt road with rolling hills and uneven pasture sections. Runners use a primary loop and may take an optional dirt-road loop during two designated one-hour windows every six hours; starters may begin that loop anytime within each window and do not have to finish it within the hour.
One well-stocked aid station at the start/finish is manned continuously for the duration of all events. Race provisions include an electrolyte/carb drink (Proxima C), typical ultra-style food, ramen at night, and served brunch and dinner. A portable private shower will be available at the site; additional shower houses and camping are located at nearby Prairie Dog State Park. Free camping is allowed at the start/finish area; porta-potties will be provided.
Key rules: 75 participant cap; no refunds and no bib transfers; one vehicle per runner including crew; runners must check in with race staff before leaving and upon return; only full laps count; pacers are allowed only after 24 hours; age minimums apply for unaccompanied runners and alcohol.
