The Rugged Red Trail Half Marathon : Slade, Kentucky

The Rugged Red Trail Half Marathon takes place in Slade, Kentucky at the Natural Bridge Campground on October 3, 2026. The main event is a 13.1 mile looping trail course held on private property in the Red River Gorge. The weekend also includes a virtual half marathon and a volunteer registration option.

Race features include commemorative long sleeve performance shirts, custom finisher medals, a DJ at the finish area, free race photos, complimentary hot and cold coffee, a complimentary beer for racers 21 and older, and a BBQ lunch for participants. Awards are given to the overall top three male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in standard age groups from 0-19 through 70 plus.

The event is cup less; participants must bring a water bottle or self-hydration system. Organizers will provide hydration at the start area and water at five locations along the course. Team entries of five or more receive a per-person discount, and on-site camping is available with the entire Natural Bridge Campground reserved for racers in 2026.

Packet pickup is scheduled in Lexington on October 1 and at Natural Bridge Campground on October 2, with a last-chance pickup at the venue on race morning.
