The Raven 10K Trail Run
The Raven 10K is an annual trail running event held at the Raven Run Nature Sanctuary in Lexington, Kentucky. The 12th edition of this race takes place on the grounds of the sanctuary, offering participants a route that transitions through varied terrain. The course begins with large grassy sections before moving onto single track primitive trails.
Participants can choose from the following options:
- Raven 10K (6.2 miles)
- Virtual 10K (6.2 miles)
The in-person race has a capacity limit of 170 runners and walkers due to parking availability at the park. There is a time and pace limit for the event, as the park remains available for use until 11:30 am, requiring a pace of at least 24 minutes per mile. Awards are presented after the race to the top three male and female overall finishers, as well as the top three finishers in age groups ranging from under 9 to over 70.
A virtual option is available for those who prefer to complete the distance independently. Virtual participants can run, walk, or hike the 10 km distance at a location of their choice or at the sanctuary prior to September 28th. Participants in the virtual category receive a commemorative shirt but do not submit results for official awards. Packet pickup is organized at the sanctuary on the morning of the event.
