The Rattlesnake Ramble 5K/10K/Half Marathon (live or virtual)

The event takes place in March 2026 at China Camp State Park in Santa Venetia, CA and offers both live and virtual participation options across three distances. Course maps are provided for each distance.

Distances

  • 5K trail with some technical terrain and minimal ascent and descent
  • 10K includes technical terrain, some single track, nearly 1,000 feet of ascent and descent
  • Half Marathon includes technical terrain, some single track, nearly 1,700 feet of ascent and descent

The half marathon is described as a stout challenge and the organizers do not recommend it for participants who have not previously covered the distance or who are not currently doing trail running. Organizers state they cannot support refunds, transfers, or credits for event cancellations or personal circumstances such as injury or schedule changes.

In the event of cancellation for reasons such as wildfires, hazardous air quality, hazardous weather, natural disasters, pandemics, or other force majeure events, organizers will ship race items to participants and provide guidance for navigating the courses individually and for submitting results. Race items and 2026 race hardware include a handcrafted woodallion, a custom shirt, a drawstring bag celebrating the 12th anniversary, and a beer sampler stein for participants.
