The Maverick Hampshire Dark Gravel

The Maverick Hampshire Dark Gravel is an evening trail event held on Saturday 31 October 2026 at Alice Holt Forest, Bucks Horn Oak, Farnham (GU10 4LS). The course uses wide open tracks and tree lined avenues through ancient woodland that forms part of the South Downs National Park.

Participants choose between three route options, each run as 5 km laps:

  • 5 km, one lap
  • 10 km, two laps
  • 15 km, three laps

There is one outpost on each lap offering a range of snacks and Precision Hydration fuel and electrolyte. Organisers do not provide pre filled cups; runners should carry a reusable cup or bottle for self serve water barrels. Headphones are not permitted. Dogs are not allowed at the event.

Facilities and services listed for the event include free parking, a fully marked and timed course, online results, event photography, a bag drop area, food and drink availability, and a metal finisher medal. Essential items recommended by the organiser include a headtorch or chest torch, phone, trail shoes, raincoat, and water bottle or running pack. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
