The Maverick Hampshire Trail 2026 is scheduled for Saturday 14 March 2026 at Matterley Basin Grand Prix Track, Winchester, Hampshire (SO24 1HW). The course uses South Downs National Park trails with undulating hills, hard-packed sections and some technical descents. The event offers free parking, a fully marked course, timed results, event photography, a bag drop area and a metal finishers medal. The event is dog friendly; dogs must be added to the entry to take part. Participants are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle, as outposts do not provide pre-filled cups.

Distances and elevation gains:

  • Half Marathon: 24 km - Elevation gain +410 m
  • Middle: 16 km - Elevation gain +298 m
  • Short: 5 km - Elevation gain +125 m

Outposts and facilities: there are two outposts on the Half Marathon (around 7.5 km and 13 km), one on the Middle route (around 7.5 km) and one on the Short route (around 3.8 km). Outposts offer snacks, gels and electrolyte drink; water is available from self-serve barrels. There are no toilets along the Short or Middle routes; toilets are available at the second outpost (Half Marathon only) and within the start/finish area. Join a guided 10km trail run around the Devil's Punchbowl in Hindhead, enjoying rolling hills and a scenic pause with great views. This friendly group paced run is led by an experienced guide and runs at sunset or by headtorch in winter.
