The Last Duel Trail Race

Cardenden, United Kingdom • 14 Sep 2025

The Last Duel Trail Race is a roughly 5.7-mile off-road trail run organized by Fife Athletic Club and Kirkcaldy Wizards. It starts and finishes in the playpark beside Cardenden Primary School and routes through Cardenden Woods, offering a mix of trail and woodland terrain that is muddy, rocky and rooted in places. Competitors navigate gravel farm tracks, a small timber bridge and tree slaloms on a course described as challenging but accessible for varied abilities. A historic twist awaits near the finish at a site associated with Scotland’s last pistol duel in 1826. Medals for all finishers; cash prizes for top male and female; entry £15.50, with discounts for Scottish Athletics members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
