Kokoda Challenge - Sydney (19–20 September 2026)
The Kokoda Challenge - Sydney is a team endurance event held on 19 and 20 September 2026. The event starts from Helensburgh Park and follows routes through Royal National Park and Heathcote National Park, finishing in Heathcote. It is organised for teams and raises funds for the Kokoda Youth Foundation while recognising the service of the Kokoda Track diggers.
Teams of two to five people can choose from multiple course lengths. The event uses checkpoint systems and, for the longer distances, designated support crew checkpoints.
- 18 km
- 48 km
- 96 km
The three course options have specific completion cutoffs and support arrangements. The 18 km course allows nine hours to complete, includes three checkpoints, requires a minimum age of nine years and does not provide a support crew checkpoint. The 48 km course allows up to twenty hours, includes seven checkpoints, has one support crew checkpoint and a minimum age of thirteen. The 96 km course allows up to thirty nine hours, includes eleven checkpoints, has four support crew checkpoints and a minimum age of fifteen.
Teams must meet minimum fundraising targets before event day. Registration fees and minimum fundraising amounts vary by distance and team type. Course maps and support crew details are published in advance and may be subject to change due to trail or council requirements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
