The Kokoda Challenge - Sydney

Sydney, Australia • 20 Sep 2025

The Sydney Kokoda Challenge is Australia’s toughest team endurance charity event, staged from Rex Jackson Oval in Helensburgh and routing participants through the Royal National Park and Heathcote National Park. Teams choose among 18km, 48km, or 96km distances—the latter honoring the original Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea. The event, run by the Kokoda Youth Foundation, raises funds for local youth programs while teaching the Kokoda Spirit of courage, endurance, mateship and sacrifice. Courses include steep inclines, river crossings and rugged terrain, with emphasis on finishing together as a team rather than winning, encouraging camaraderie and shared achievement.
