The Hardwolds 80

The Hardwolds 80 is an 80 mile trail race held from Saturday 22nd to Sunday 23rd November 2025. The route follows the Wolds Way from Hessle to Filey and passes through chalk landscapes with dry valleys, wildlife areas, market towns and villages including Brantingham, Londesborough, Thixendale and the deserted medieval village of Wharram Percy before finishing at Filey. The minimum age for entry is 18.

Race details and logistics

  • Distance: 80 miles.
    Competitors have 24 hours to complete the course. Entry opened 15 December 2024 and closed 31 October 2025; there were 106 entries listed. Entry fees for solo runners were shown in two bands: an early bird rate and a higher rate from 1 May 2024, with a separate fee for relay teams. The solo fee includes a tracker and a £1 donation to the Wolds Way National Trail. Relay teams were offered at a separate fee.

Each competitor may use up to two non-returnable drop bags. Water is available at every manned checkpoint and food is provided at various checkpoints, with hot drinks and hot food at indoor checkpoints. Competitors may run with a support crew or unsupported. A coach service was offered to transport runners who park in Filey to the race start at Hessle for a stated fee. Finishers receive a race medal and a finisher T-shirt.
