GNW Trail Running Festival

The Great North Walk Trail Running Festival offers three race distances: 10K, 30K, and 50K. The event takes place in September.

The courses follow trails on the Great North Walk route. The 10K route features 329 meters of ascent and descent, with a total actual distance of 9.6 kilometers. The 30K route has 770 meters of ascent and descent over 29.2 kilometers. The 50K route covers 50.3 kilometers with 1,485 meters of ascent and descent.

Each race has a time cut-off: 4 hours for the 10K, 8 hours for the 30K, and 11 hours for the 50K. Completion times from the 30K and 50K events can serve as qualification times for the Six Foot Track Marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
