The GKI Trail Run

The GKI Trail Run is a trail running event on Great Keppel Island, organised by Fitzroy Frogs Triathlon and held on 7 June 2026 at Keppel Island, Australia. The event uses the GKI Hideaway as the start, finish and recovery venue.

The course offers a range of distances and participants may choose their route during the event, provided they return to the Hideaway by the event deadline.

Participants must carry at least 1 litre of drinking water, basic nutrition, a mobile phone and a bandage, as there are no aid stations on course. Marshals are stationed at checkpoints to log progress.

Registrations close on Friday 5 June 2026 at midnight and ferry transfer is not included in the entry fee. Entry prices listed for the event are: Child aged 9 to 17 $35 and Adult aged 18 and over $55. Registrations are not accepted for participants younger than 9 years on 31 December 2026. Participants under 12 years must be accompanied by a registered adult at all times. Triathlon Australia members receive a $20 registration discount when using TA insurance for the event.

A special morning ferry service from Rosslyn Bay is provided to reach the island about 45 minutes before the event and is booked through the ferry provider.
