Stevens Point, United States • 30 May 2026

Endurance Racing in Central Wisconsin

The Dormie Challenge is a timed ultra marathon held on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. As the first event of its kind in Portage County, it takes place on a loop measuring 1.01 miles. Participants can choose between two main endurance events:

  • 12-Hour Challenge
  • 6-Hour Challenge

The event is organized by Steps and Strides, Inc., the nonprofit organization responsible for Walk Wisconsin and the Wonderful Water Run. Registration is limited to a field of 125 runners. The course is situated on the university grounds, providing a controlled environment for athletes to accumulate as many miles as possible within their chosen timeframe.

All proceeds from the event directly support the UWSP Cross Country Team. The race provides an opportunity for athletes to participate in an ultra marathon in a community-focused setting while supporting local collegiate athletics. Registration remains open until late May or until the field limit is reached. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
