The Coldwater Classic
The Coldwater Classic is a multi-sport event held at the Coutlee Plateau Mountain Biking Recreation Area in Merritt, British Columbia. Hosted by Heads or Trails, the event features trail running and cross-country (XC) mountain biking disciplines over the course of two days.
The event structure alternates by sport, with running events scheduled for the first day and biking events for the second. Participants can select from various distances and combined multi-sport categories:
- 10 km Run
- 26 km Run
- 10 km XC Bike
- 26 km XC Bike
- Multi-Sport (10 km Run & 10 km Bike)
- Multi-Sport (26 km Run & 26 km Bike)
Specific time regulations are in place for the longer distances. Both the 26 km run and the 26 km bike event have a 6-hour cut-off time, with the course closing at 2:00 PM. Detailed route information for all distances is mapped through Trailforks and Gaia GPS.
The venue offers free on-site camping for participants using tents, RVs, or trailers. This camping area is provided without utility hook-ups or showers, though portable toilets are available on-site.
